Since the United States Presidential elections in November 2020, three people that has been part of the TMDD Leadership Team has acquired a political role in the US, being two of them selected to work directly for the Biden/Harris administration!
– Pili Tobar, a Guatemalan-American political advisor and who has even been a trainer in a TMDD Summit, started to serve as White House Deputy Communications Director since the end of 2020.
– Kayse Jama, a Somali refugee, passionate advocator for the the powerless people and who has also been a trainer in a TMDD Summit, won his appointment to be a State Senator in Oregon in the very beginning of January 2021.
– Eva Millona, NPNA’s co-chair and head of Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) was headed off to a senior immigration role working on Partnership and Engagement at the Department of Homeland Security for the Biden/Harris administration in May 2021. Eva Millona led MIRA, the largest organization representing the foreign-born community in New England, for more than 12 years and catapulted it into one of the most high-profile players on the local, state and national levels, while also growing and diversifying the organization’s membership and staff.
